Corten steel (rust)

CorTen steel is a particularly hard structural steel. The word "CorTen" is the brand name for a weather-resistant steel alloy. When this steel is exposed to the environment, it forms an outer platinum layer that protects it from corrosion
The main advantages are:
High resistance to corrosion and weathering, up to 8 times higher than conventional steel, making it particularly suitable for the natural oxidation that occurs outdoors in contact with air, forming a protective layer that prevents further rusting. In addition, this patina gives it a warm brown color whose tone varies over the years and depending on the external environment.
Corten is considered a material that is "alive" and automatically protects itself. When the surface patina is actually damaged or scratched, it oxidizes again to build up new protection. This regeneration phenomenon can occur several times, maintaining a constant protection.

Corten steel behaves exactly like good wine. You need a good raw material and the best conditions. The desired rust patina develops over time as the sign is exposed to the elements of water and sun. The patina of your shield will continue to develop over time until this rust forms a protective layer that covers the underlying steel.

Apart from its "warm character", corten steel is 100% recyclable.

Powder coating

Powder coating is a type of coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. Unlike conventional liquid paint, which is delivered via an evaporating solvent, powder coating is typically applied electrostatically and then cured under heat or with ultraviolet light.
There are two main advantages. First, powder coating results in a thick, dense finish on metal products that can be more durable and long-lasting than traditional paint finishes. Secondly, powder coating is a one-coat paint, so the process is quite fast and simple.

Stainless steel

Brushed stainless steel is stainless steel with a unidirectional satin finish. It is made by polishing it with a fine bristle brush on a belt or wheel that moves in the same direction all the time, and then softening it with a grease-free compound or a medium non-woven abrasive belt or pad. It has a visible grain that creates a matte finish. It is used in public places or outdoors because of its resistance to corrosion, but it does not develop rust and always retains its beautiful silver sheen.
